If we feel we cannot make a meaningful contribution to your research, there is no charge for the initial consultation.
How Our Pricing Works
1. Clear Estimates
Every family line is unique. After discussing your objectives, we outline the proposed work and provide a clear estimate before research begins. We only proceed once you are fully comfortable.
2. No Hidden Fees
All potential costs—research hours, fieldwork, record searches, and any necessary expenses—are agreed in advance. Expenses such as travel or visits to local or national archives are incurred only when required and always charged at cost. Third-party fees, if applicable, for certificates and other documents will be charged to you.
3. Payments
A deposit is requested only when you approve a research project. The remaining balance is paid on completion. Payments can be made easily and securely via PayPal.
4. Tailored Research
We offer everything from quick record lookups to in-depth reports, archive visits, graveyard surveys, and analysis of historic maps, land records, and more. All work is customised to your needs and budget.
5. Regular Updates
We keep you informed throughout your project—weekly for short enquiries and at scheduled intervals for longer investigations—so you remain part of the journey.
